You may be healthy and have a strong immune system. Your body may be able to fight off this infection with no ill affects. However, if you contract the virus, there will be a period of time when you are contagious but show no symptoms. You come in contact with people every day who aren't as strong as you. Your roommates, classmates, teachers, family members, clerks, and others will be infected. Google "Typhoid Mary". You don't have to be afraid of dying from the flu in order to get the vaccine.
