I love UCF football, but this is one of the poorest arguments imaginable to present as an advantage for recruitment. Yes, we do sometimes go head to head for players with USF, but is athlete safety and well-being is not an issue that we want to bring to the table. If the USF coach assaulted a player, he is a coward and he should loose his job. However, we are known as the school that is responsible for over-conditioning freshman Ereck Plancher until he passed out and died in 2008. As any good Knight fan should do, I will always take pleasure in USF taking one on the chin, but let's just enjoy this as a negative for them, and not try to connect an unnecessary positive spin for ourselves on this one. What's next? USF gaining more basketball recruits because Marcus Jordan won't wear Adidas shoes? Maybe Hulk Hogan's divorce will tarnish the reputation of USF alumni, thus building a new wing on the Fairwinds Alumni Center? I’m sorry.
