Move Over Rebecca Black, UCF Student Posts ‘Amazin’ New Music Video on YouTube
Beyond UCF, Culture, Music, News, Videos — By Staff on March 21, 2011 at 1:15 pm TweetJust days after Rebecca Black released her music video “Friday” on YouTube, which has swept the globe with nearly 30 million views, a University of Central Florida student has released a music video of his own.
The music video is called “Amazin’” and was posted by UCF freshman Brandon K. Howard, who stars in the video and goes by A.T. while performing. It tells the story of how Howard’s life is amazing, apparently as he lives the college life at UCF — even if he doesn’t make it as a famous singer.
Unlike Rebecca Black, who appeared to rely heavily on green screen technology to produce her video, Howard made UCF of Orlando’s iconic Lake Eola and downtown skyline. He also made use of a local Orlando mall. The end of the video shows security wasn’t pleased with the mall being a location for a production shoot and kicked him out.
Black’s video, which has sparked a firestorm of controversy from critics, focused mostly on the importance of Friday and the start of the weekend to herself and her friends. See Black’s Friday video below:
While Black has earned fame, she has also earned critics. Recently, American Idol legend Simon Cowell came to her defense.
“I love her [and] the fact that she’s gotten so much publicity. People are so upset about the song, but I think it’s hysterical,” Cowell told People magazine. “I want to meet her. Anyone, who can create this much controversy within a week, I want to meet. I love people like that.”

Howard’s “Amazin’” video is so new, it’s not yet clear if it will take off and go viral — or how it will be received if it does. Right now it only has about 307 views. KnightNews.com will monitor the video and update you as the situation develops. For now, leave a comment below to let us know which video you like better: Friday or Amazin’.

Decent, both of them. The guy can RAP! And I agree with Tracy that the white rapper thing is racist. I mean anyone has the potential to do it, no matter what they look like. Personally I think Rebecca sounds a little nasal but it IS her first song, so it’s not like she’s a professional singer quite yet.
Keep up the awesome work, singers!
The video is good work. Any negative comments posted here aren’t deserved. I admire that he took the effort to make something creative. Keep it up
I admire anyone who has the guts to get out there and do something they love regardless of whether other people think they have talent or not. Life is too short to hold yourself back just because people might make fun of you…We’re grown adults here. This isn’t middle school – this is real life now, come on. The lame people who sit around and laugh, what do they have to show for themselves?
Rebecca is fun and has charisma. A.T. has talent and that song sounds just as good as a lot of stuff on the radio. Whether you think they’re “good” or not is an opinion. Fact of the matter is, their names are in your mouth, so they’re doing something right. They are entertaining you one way or another…And please stop hating on white people who rap. Seriously? Skin color determines talent? I don’t think so. Reverse racism is still racism.
Keep doing your thing, A.T. and Rebecca. I admire your heart.
This Kid blows ! Lookout for some real talent coming to UCF soon.
The production company for Rebecca Black’s music video is L.A. based Suite 7 Productions (www.Suite7Productions.com), owned by my little brother, Christopher Lowe. He has done quite a few videos for Ark Music, this is the first to have gone viral and from what I understand make music history. “Friday” is in the top 25 of iTunes downloads. I don’t think a song has EVER reached iTunes top 30 purely from internet views. Glad your putting yourself out there Brandon. This won’t be a hit like Rebecca.
1. The guy is hideous.
2. His song is not stupid enough.
3. He’s nothing “amazin”
someone explain to me how you can even call that girls video a piece of music
That was sick! Rebecca Black sucks A.T. is amazin’
Wanna see a better white male rapper.

WOW. Very cool Video. You are great, man.
Who said he’s trying to be like Em? There are other white artists, you know.
I respect what you’re doing A.T. Keep it up!
Yeah, that Eminem sure is a flash in the pan.
I thought the reflectors were cool. People need to understand that I’m an inspirational musician. I’m not trying to rap it’s just what I feel. It takes a while to actually appreciate my time and lyrics I put into my music. People are so wrapped up in radio music talking about nothing important. I’m that change
I think the baby at 0:46 just about sums everything up.
Cannot rap .. please stop! Oh, and next time you shoot a music video, wear less reflective sunglasses we can see the camera.
