Finding funny comedians to come perform at UCF is not the easiest task, but thankfully, this Thursday, the Campus Activity Board has succeeded in proving us with one of the funniest female comedians in the business, Amy Schumer.

What was originally going to cost any student $5 has now become a free show which means no one should miss out on what is sure to be an entertaining evening.

Schumer is known for her brand of offensive and shocking humor which has led her to land her own television show on comedy central and more than one stand up special. And while not everyone is accepting of such off color humor, Schumer is one the best examples of someone willing to push the boundaries of what is acceptable in entertainment.

With jokes such as, “The way that these girls keep themselves skinny is awful, isn’t it? By vomiting or using hard drugs, which I can’t afford” she provides the audience the chance to laugh at the most taboo subjects.

Some may find such humor disrespectful to sensitive subjects and the people who have gone through these painful experiences. In my opinion, however, humor like hers offers us the chance to move past and accept the pain. Laughter is the best medicine and this Thursday make sure you go out to see what is sure to be one of the best sources of healing you can see for free.

The show will be held at the CFE arena on Thursday February 20. Information about when and where to get tickets can be found here.

Again, the tickets are free for any UCF students and if you previously purchased a ticket, you can receive a refund at the CFE arena box office. Doors open at 8:00 P.M. while the show will begin at 9:00 P.M.
