In anticipation for the NFL combine this weekend, Blake Bortles has announced via twitter that he will definitely be throwing this weekend when his number is called. The tweet read as follows:

“Dreamt about the combine since I was a kid! Fired up to compete in all aspects of it, especially throwing!”

Since first declaring for the draft, Bortles has made it known that his top priority is to be taken with the number one spot. He has been taking classes online to finish his degree while, training at EXOS Performance Training Facility in San Diego.

Among most draftniks Bortles is ranked as one of the top three quarterback prospects entering this year’s draft, joining the likes of Louisville’s Teddy Bridgewater and former Heisman winner Johnny Manziel.

The combine has the chance to give him a leg up on his competition and further fuel his rapid ascension to the top of the board, especially considering that Manziel has decided to forgo the passing portion of the combine, choosing instead to throw at his pro day.

Bridgewater has yet to affirm whether he will or will not participate, but could potentially suffer dearly with Bortles the lone star under spotlight.

Quarterbacks report to the combine on Thursday for orientation, and will perform their on-field work out on Sunday.
