KnightNews.com caught up with several UCF students who actually sat in on the Casey Anthony trial on Wednesday. During their lunch break, here is what they had to say:

In case you want to go watch the trial yourself, KnightNews.com has done some digging to find out how. Only 50 seats are available for the public, while the other 50 are reserved mostly for media. Simply show up to the courthouse as early as 5:30 a.m. to get yourself a spot in line. You can line up on the north side of the courthouse outside the doors. No overnight camping is allowed.

If you do go, email us at news@knightnews.com to let us know how it went, and to see if we can come interview you about your experience.

Watch a live stream of the trial at www.caseyanthonytriallive.com.

KnightNews.com traveled to Washington D.C. to bring students coverage of the 2011 AIPAC Policy Conference, in addition to the protests that took place outside the D.C. Convention Center during President Obama’s speech.

According to its website, AIPAC works with both Democratic and Republican political leaders to enact public policy that strengthens the vital U.S.-Israel relationship.

This year, several UCF students traveled to D.C. as well to attend the conference and represent the student body. Most notably, SGA President Matt McCann attended. Check out our exclusive interview with him on the first day of registration.

This year set an attendance record for the conference with more than 10,000 attendees, 1,500 of which were students.

President Obama spoke at the conference around 10:30 a.m. on its first day to address the relationship between the U.S. and Israel, as well as to discuss some heated points he made during his Mideast Policy Speech last Thursday.

According to a press release sent to KnightNews.com by UCF student organization ‘Students for Israel,’ the UCF Delegation presented Florida’s members of Congress with a petition advocating for a strong US-Israel relationship signed by leaders on the UCF Campus.

Israel Resolution–Paper

Signers of the petition included over a dozen SGA Senators and the leadership of the College Democrats and College Republicans. 215 SGA Presidents across the country, the Presidents of the College Democrats of America and College Republican National Committee, and over 2/3rds of Congress were also in attendance.

KnightNews.com will continue to follow along with the situation in the Middle East, especially Israel, as UCF has one of the highest Jewish populations of any school in the country, with an estimated 5,500.

Check out our photo gallery from the protests outside the convention center:

Wednesday night, on the infamous 4/20, after their concert at the UCF arena, Wiz Khalifa and Mac Miller will be making an appearance at Deko Lounge for their official “Roll Up We High” after party.

For just $10 cover, Deko will be offering $2 shots and $3 drinks, and a chance to meet Wiz, known mainly for this chart-topping song, ‘Black and Yellow.”

Mac Miller performed at Scoop Bar & Grill just a few months ago, where he was far less known, but students — and non-students from Orlando and surrounding areas — poured in to catch a glimpse at this teenager-rapper who has become quite the internet sensation.

Romi Mawardi, owner of Deko Lounge, called KnightNews.com to let us know he was excited to have them come out to Deko, and looks forward to a great night.

In the hype up Wiz Khalifa and Mac Miller coming to Orlando, students are getting increasingly excited. One student, an up-and-coming recording artist, J. Lee, even remixed one of his favorite songs by Mac Miller entitled “Donald Trump.”

“When I heard the song for the first time I fell in love with the beat and told myself it would be crazy not to write my own verse,” said Lee, a UCF student.

He wrote, recorded and made a music video to his remix, entitled “Take Over the World,” which can be seen below. Leave us — and J. Lee — some comments below to let us know how you like his video.

One of the events was a barrel walk, where one contestant had to carry a member of their team on their back while holding another team member by their legs as that teammate walked on their hands to complete the relay.

Another event was a marshmallow relay, which required the contestants to spin around five times, then run to the end of the field and lie down while a marshmallow was dropped in their mouth along with chocolate syrup, and then run back to the other end and tag in their next teammate.

In addition to the games, students could buy snow cones, body and face paint, participate in an Oxygen bar and visit several other stations, all which yielded proceeds to Kappa Alpha Theta’s official philanthropy, Court Appointed Special Advocates (C.A.S.A.)

The event’s chairwoman, Carly Griffo, was pleased to see such a great turnout at the event’s first year, and hopes for continued success in the future.
