David Cohn, was the face of the “UCF 5th Guy” campaign, which was started by the UCF Student Health Center and aimed to promote hygiene and better hygienic behaviors amongst students, according to Cohn.

His “UCF 5th Guy” Facebook fan page had even gotten up to 340 members last year.

KnightNews.com reached out to David Cohn to find out what he has been up to after finishing up the fifth guy campaign and graduating UCF.

After graduating UCF he went on to preforming in an a cappella/beatboxing show at Hersheypark Theme Park.

“Working at Hershey Park allowed me to meet super talented people who had similar aspirations, and we were able to work alongside each other while learning new ways to fine-tune our crafts,” Cohn said.

Since then he has moved back to Florida and has been working in the recording studio with all different styles of music and putting out new songs.

“Working in the studio is like nothing I’ve ever done before. When I’m there, I have the ability to bring to life sounds and ideas that only previously existed in my head. It’s surreal to hear something of my own play through the speakers of my car sometimes,” Cohn told KnightNews.com.

He has been told by his fans that his work is similar to the styles of “One Republic.”

Sarah is a full-time student, member of the guitar club and an active member of the Alpha Epsilon Phi sorority, through which she often participates in philanthropy events. Outside of this, Sarah has spent years contributing to a cause with a special place in her heart, finding a cure for juvenile diabetes. Inspired by her older sister, who has suffered from juvenile diabetes for 25 years, Sarah created the Rock for the Cure concert in order to raise awareness and money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

The premier Rock for the Cure concert took place in Sarah’s hometown of Coral Springs and featured 13 local bands whose versatility ranged from Pink Floyd covers to heavy metal, pleasing audience members of all ages eager to lend a hand and enjoy quality entertainment for only a few dollars. After concessions, donations, and ticket sales, Sarah raised $6,500, a feat she accomplished with a philanthropy brought to life by her motivation alone.

Now a seasoned philanthropist and event coordinator, Sarah is taking her efforts to the next level. In Spring of 2011, she hopes to conduct an even more successful Rock for the Cure featuring the Jonas Brothers, whose lives have also been affected by diabetes. With a professional venue and more well-known artists, Sarah foresees an even greater turnout and thus a greater contribution toward the cause for which she has developed an inextinguishable passion.

With the assistance of Pepsi’s Refresh program and her peers, Sarah has the potential of receiving a $50,000 grant for her philanthropy idea, without which she may not be able to bring her dream to fruition. Set to benefit the Children’s Miracle network, ticket sales, as well as the money raised from t-shirt and sweatshirt sales, will all go to the charity.

ATO reached out to the community and had sponsorships from Jeremiah’s Italian Ice, Grey’s book store and Monster energy drink, who all had displays set up and were providing giveaways.

The perimeter of the house was roped off to create a closed environment for those in attendance. There was an elaborate stage with sound and lighting equipment to turn their front lawn into a concert hall. Although it was cold out, the line grew and the lawn filled up with students.

ATO raised thousands of dollars for Children’s Miracle Network, hosted a great concert that was enjoyed by all and look forward to future years of making this even more successful.

The couple now lives in Nashville, Tennessee, where Kleinschmidt is a marketing tour manager and Dunlap is an entertainer. “Ericka and Brian are excited to be the first married interracial team on ‘The Amazing Race’”, according to the CBS website.

The UCF grads will be the yellow team on the reality game show. The 15th season of “The Amazing Race” airs Sunday nights at 8:00 on CBS. Be sure to check out Ericka and Brian.

Rukus, one of UCF’s most popular dance clubs, is holding try outs today at 4 p.m. at the UCF Education Building’s gym, near Millican Hall.

You can check out the promo video the club made above.

They ask you bring $3 to the tryouts, as well as a positive attitude, dance clothes and sneakers.

Ruckus dances are popular at events such as homecoming, where they perform on stage in front of thousands of students.
