One of the men was transported to the nearby Florida Hospital East on Lake Underhill. The other was rushed all the way downtown to Orlando Regional Medical Center, a trauma center, presumably because his injuries were more severe.

The names of the victims have not been released, so we’re unable to find out the status of these victims at this time.

KnightNews.com has interviewed several eyewitnesses to the brawl, all of which asked we withhold their names out of fears for their own safety.

One eyewitness said a victim who was unresponsive on the floor appeared “an inch away from death.”

Other eyewitnesses said that victim had his face stomped on repeatedly during the melee.

KnightNews.com broke this story around 3:30 Monday morning, after several tipsters told us there was a serious fight at Scoop that ended with a swarm of Orange County sheriff’s deputies and ambulances in the parking lot outside the bar.

One eyewitness claimed a brawl broke out around closing time, involving around two dozen people. When the brawl was over, the two men lay unresponsive in the parking lot, he said.

Pools of blood filled the parking lot, and one man even pulled out a bat, eyewitnesses said.

The scene remained chaotic after deputies and ambulances left the scene.

KnightNews.com crews responding to the scene just after 3 a.m. were confronted by a disoriented man with a bloody face who apparently was trying to steal our cameras, phone and car.

KnightNews.com crews had to leave the scene and were not able to collect video because they did not feel safe.

Another eyewitness told KnightNews.com Monday morning that he had a similar encounter with the disoriented man with the bloody face. In his encounter, the man tried to get into his car and ask for a ride.

KnightNews.com videojournalist Julian Belyea describes his encounter in this video blog below:

“your best source” definitely hit the nail on the head! i’ve been going to scoop one to twice per week since 2007, and at the very most, ive seen 4 fights. the security at scoop each time has been right on the fight and distinguished the violence prior to any innocent people becoming caught up in the act. i frequent three other bars/clubs and must say that NOBODY comes close to the safety measures enacted by the scoop employees / management. (though i will agree that scoop on occasion has a poor odor, that is typical of any college bar, and i in fact think that scoop’s scent is far from being the worst in our area!)

  • In addition to that comment below. Knight Library has been shot at twice in the last 9 months. The front of the premises had a bullet hole in the window from one of these gun fights, and OCSO responded to ‘Shots Fired’ at Knight Library less than 90 days ago. Which is all public record. Not to use KL as an example, but I had to.

  • The fight occurred on labor day weekend. On this weekend, the majority of UCF students are gone to their respective home towns, and many locals come out to the bars to celebrate the holiday. Events like this happen at all bars, but it seems a few troublesome locals like to visit Scoop on the times when students are gone.

This event is not reflective of how Scoop is on a daily or nightly basis. The employees there work hard to keep the place clean, much more so than other bars in the area. Health inspection reports are public record and can be seen by anybody.

Clint, I assume is Clint House, who doesn’t like Scoop because he was denied to promote there by the owners when he thought he was “Mr. Orlando” and likes to make fun of the place.

  • Clint says:

Scoop is pretty disgusting most of the time, the place smells moldy! An obvious result of neglect on the part of the owners to keep the place somewhat clean…

That being said, Scoop probably has a frequency of bar fights roughly equivalent to, or greater than TD’s or Library. If you want a more quality drinking experience, try Medicis or Underground Bluz :-D

    “thats scoop for you.”???

what are you talking about? scoop probably has the least fights out of the popular local bars! a rogue rowdy person doesnt define the bar. thats like saying “thats maryland for you” when those two snipers were shooting at random people a few years back in maryland

  • Julian Belyea says:

Well, if you had a 3000 dollar camera along with $1000 bucks worth of other equipment in the car, you’d be a little protective.
