Before noon on Memory Mall Saturday, there were no grills, no burgers and no beer.

But, there were people.

Many Knights fans brought out a single chair and sat in their future tailgate spot in protest, hours before the 12 p.m. tailgating festivities are allowed to start under UCF’s controversial new rules.

The fans had some of their tailgate gear set off to the side, but it was not set up early.

Our KnightNews.com crews did not see anyone being asked to leave.

Several fans also came early to sit in the Student Union and wait at Wackadoos, which is still allowed to server beer before noon.

KnightNews.com has multiple crews working UCF’s first tailgate of the school year, and we’ll be providing complete coverage throughout the day and into the night.
