ATO Invites UCF to Say Goodbye to John Grosso
News — By Staff on October 19, 2009 at 11:54 amAt 9 p.m. tonight, the brothers of Alpha Tau Omega will say goodbye to one of their own.
John Grosso died in a tragic car accident early Friday morning. He was only 21.
According to an e-mail we received from a member of ATO, the candlelight vigil will start at 9 p.m. tonight at the ATO house. There is also a facebook event with information.
“Everyone is more than welcome to come and show your love and support,” according to the facebook event page.
KnightNews.com has been in contact with Grosso’s family, and members have posted comments about him on our first story.
“He was a great man and he will be tremendously missed,” wrote Tammy and David Busciglio, Grosso’s aunt and uncle. ”Our lives will never be the same without him. These upcoming holidays will never be the same!”
They are asking anyone with pictures of him to e-mail them to Busciglio@me.com. The family hopes to include them in a slide show to be presented during Grosso’s funeral at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21 at Stowers Funeral Home in Brandon. His viewing is from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. the night before, at the same location.
Grosso’s friends from UCF have also started sharing what Grosso meant to them.
Eddie Hughes, Grosso’s roommate of two years, said they were like brothers — and that Grosso was taken way too soon.
“The only thing I now have to hold on to are the memories of his unmistakable laugh, his incredible sense of humor, his sly little comments, certain looks that were so predictable when you would ask or say certain things to him, but most of all I will never forget was his smile that could take any anger out of the coldest of hearts,” Hughes wrote.
“I love you John Grosso, and you will forever be in my heart! Rest in Peace Fin and one day I will see you on the other side.”

Great article, I especially like what you had to say in the last paragraph.
It’s been just over a month that our son, John, has passed away. We are still grieving over the loss of an incredible son and young man. John left this world a better place. In his 21 years, he has left a legacy that we can only hope to achieve ourselves.
We want to THANK each and every one of you for loving our son. And, for all of his friends who were able to come to his services, we thank you for the bottom of our hearts for being there. I hope that you will learn from this tragedy and realize how precious life is because it can be taken away in an instance.
With gratitude and love,
Grosso’s Parents, John & Elaine
God Bless you, Admin for taking those terrible and hurtful comments off your page.
Shame on you John Jeffries – Angel Martinez- Miguel Cabrera
- Jose’s friend- RIP Jose- Steve Drago- Anthony H.- tracy- logical thinking- devaneys regular- ucf greek- your best source
or who ever you are!
You are the devil and God himself will take care of you!
Im very happy you have deleted the comments from John Jeffries . Friends of Jose & John did research on this and that is his name. What an awful person to pray on the minds of people who are mourning the loss of these 2 wonderful boys.
As an immediate family member of John, A/K/A Aunt Tammy, I would greatly appreciate it if you would stop leaving ANY comments about the bar. It is not about the bar, it is about my dear Nephew John and his best friend, Jose, who lost their lives. I understand your point as to not drinking too much. I understand your point as to not drink and drive. I also understand that you feel by writing your comments it will help awareness to drinking and driving; however, our family is in major mourning for my awesome Nephew whom we had the most difficult time burying yesterday. I would appreciate it if you would please post your comments elsewhere. I have every intention to save and print this information for our Family so that we can have a copy of wonderful comments that OUR friends, family, and John’s friends have posted about my Nephew.
To everyone who has been so awesome in supporting our family in this terrible time, please keep sending your comments, it DOES comfort our family.
I would appreciate it if EVERYONE would not respond to this person’s comments about the bar. This will just encourage this person to keep writing these comments. Let’s pretend he or she is not there, maybe eventually this person will crawl back from under the rock in which he/she came from.
This will be my only reply to this topic!
Dear John,
I miss you tremendously. Your smile, your laugh, your being…! Our Family will NEVER be the same. We miss you SO much! I know you are in heaven and you will be watching over us. Whenever we smile, laugh, or feel the wind blow, we will think of you. When the bright sun shines down on our face, we will think of you! Please give the ones who passed before you a hug and kiss for us. Saying goodbye is so hard, but we know you are in good hands. I thank you for the privilege of being your Tia. I have such wonderful memories of you.
I remember when you were about 7 years old and we were driving to the ice skating rink. You were such a chatter box in the car. You talked and talked and talked some more. There was no shutting you up. It was blah, blah, blah. We couldn’t hear ourselves think. Tio David decided to play a game, it was called who could be quiet the longest. One, Two, Three go… Not a second later your dad says “Are we starting yet?” Bam!!! Tio David yelled, “John, your Dad’s a loser.” You got so upset, you started yelling and crying, “My dad is not a loser!” You were so mad at Tio. Tio was on your crap list for several days after that. I remember this past Christmas writing this exact same information in your Christmas card!! You read it and laughed saying “That’s funny!” I still remember seeing your face laughing. That is a memory I will always hold dear to my heart!
The last time I saw you was a few months ago when you came to the office to have your teeth cleaned. You are such a handsome man! Before you left, you asked how your Tio was doing. Isn’t that just like you? You were always concerned about other people. (Baby, that is one of the things that made you so special!) I remember telling you goodbye and telling you that I loved you… You said with your wonderful smile, “I love you too, Tia.” That is the smile and words I have to hold on to… I love you, Baby, and I will see you again some day…
P.S.
Please tell God we really need His support right now. This is so difficult for all of us. Please pray for us to find peace… We ALL love you, Baby!!!
Its obivious you dont have a clue as to what happened that night because if you did you would know that the accident DID NOT occur when the boys left the bar!!!
Were you hanging out with them that night? NO! Do you know exactly how many drinks were served to them that night?!? NO! Do you know if they had been drinking prior to going to the bar or after the left the bar?!? NO! You dont know CRAP!
I know the people who were with John & Jose that night and i know the TRUTH about what happened.
Isnt your name John Jeffries? Arent you like 30 yrs old? Do you go to UCF? Are you on the 10 yr plan or something???
I will JUDGE you because you have NO IDEA what you are talking about and your pulling information out of your A$$!
I hope people facebook you and send you messages about what they think of you. Leave people alone who are trying to mourn the loss of their friends.
#1 None of these people that have left prior comments work for that bar.
#2 For the 100th time these boys did have a DD from the bar when they left.
#3 Finally, people are trying to mourn these boys who they loved dearly so NO ONE wants nor cares to hear your assinine comments ANYMORE!
Listen John Jeffries, you don’t have all of the facts. Let us just remember, pray, think about, mourn for John and Jose. Stop trying to turn this into some lawsuit. The parents aren’t going to go for it. This is a very tragic situation for a lot of us, please stop posting about it since you don’t know what really happened.
your best source please do everyone a favor and quit leaving comments. you think you know everything about what happened to these boys that night and you dont even have a clue. If your so hell bent on shutting down this bar then go for it. These boys HAD a DD driver from this bar to a friends home when they left so SHUT UP already about the bar calling them a cab.
John & Jose touched many lives and their friends and family will miss them more than life itself. You knew NOTHING about these boys so we’d all appreciate it if you keep the rest of your opinions to yourself and stop showing your ignorance.
Your best source, point blank, you are a bad person, enough said.
Elaine I am so sorry to hear of this news, I just spoke with my mom (Ana) and our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family..
your extended family… Becky (Dodgie’s niece)
