  • excellent stuff. Do you have a RSS feed? And also would it be cool if I added in your feed to a site of mine? I have a site which brings content through RSS feeds out of a number of websites and I would like to add yours, many people don’t mind because I link back and everything but I like to get approval 1st. Anyhow let me know if you can, thank you.

  • ummm says:

I think they ended up getting in trouble because enough betas complained… they cant drink or do much of anything in fall from what i heard.

  • YO says:

I don’t understand why they weren’t suspended or kicked off. This should be treated the same as the BETA case.

  • re: Hmmm says:

Good point, but the article makes it sound like this happened in an apartment style building, where I at least assume he had his own bedroom. Who is to say what goes on in there when the door is closed and locked? There are many hypotheticals we can go into here, but I agree with the consensus that to hold an entire group responsible for the actions of one is not proper policy.

  • Hmmm says:

With all due respect, this happened in a fraternity house! That’s where group responsiblity comes in. If this was in a private residence, whether or not he was a paying member of the organization, we wouldn’t be discussing this.

  • GOLDENAXE says:

Why do students always push for such harsh punishments? It’s naive. I believe anyone in the Greek system is aware of the prevalence of booger sugar, whacky tabacky, rainbow sunshine, and little discs of happiness. Chef laid it down the right way, “Kids, there’s a time and a place for everything. And that’s COLLEGE.” To judge an entire group based solely on one individual’s experimentation has a negative impact on EVERYONE. Kudos to the “bad egg” comment.

  • Very Flawed Rule says:

I agree with the person below me. Yes, all Greeks should be very careful as to who they recruit and let into their organization. However, there are always “bad eggs” in every organization that are able to hide their flaws. Punishing an entire organization for the wrongdoings of one is absurd. If this were an organizational problem this would be a different story, but it obviously is not. The Golden Rule is clearly tarnished in its intentions, in which the only intention is to easily remove any organization from campus with little effort and without evaluating the organization as a whole. Beta Theta Pi was wrongfully removed from campus due to the actions of one (which turned out to not be a “cry wolf” story). This rule needs to be removed from the books as soon as possible before every organization is under the axe.

  • Flawed Rule says:

If there is one that that should be taken away from this incident is the reality of how backward OSC’s rule is about holding an entire organization accountable for one person’s actions. There are many other things to be taken into account before punishing an entire group in unfortunate situations such as this. Beta Theta Pi seems to have been the victim of unfortunate circumstances such as this. It is an asinine rule that will hopefully be reevaluated.

  • toldyouso says:

OSC should have learned its lesson last year, they didnt, now this shows how much of a joke they are.
After the Beta Fiasco they shouldve said that from now on they’d actually follow the rule saying that groups cant be charged for individuals behavior unless its clearly a group act. But no, instead of doing the right thing, they did the opposite and changed the rule to say that groups CAN AND WILL be punished whenever a member or guest does bad.
So now this drug charge in fraternity housing. WHAT ARE YOU GONNA DO NOW OSC?

  • concerned says:

Again the office of student conduct takes away from its legitimacy. We see last year that the office overstepped the Golden rule and ignored the sanctions that are supposed to be placed organizations. NOW, they ignore the fact that there is a new rule in the golden rule describing this very situation, one member now represents the whole of the organization, whether you are the Women’s Crew Club or a Fraternity, whether your are a Law Fraternity or a Sorority, the chapter is now responsible for the actions of their individual members. Since the office has made this new rule a part of the golden rule I feel that they should further investigate this situation. I would hate to see another fraternity get kicked off campus because my sorority already is missing some of the chapters that have gotten kicked off, but I definitely feel that as a governing body OSC should accentuate its legitimacy and show that they take situations like this seriously.

  • KSIG says:

KSIG?! REALIZE HOW YOU’RE TKE WITH A HOUSE ON CAMPUS. LOOK AT YOU, YOU’RE LIKE THE GUIDOS WHO CAN’T GET A BID TO SIGMA CHI…DELT OR NOT YOU STILL HAVE A 60 MAN BALL CLASS. IT’S EITHER ATO OR DELT, EVERYONE KNOWS THAT…

  • KSIG says:

KSIG IS A BUNCH OF FUCKING GUIDOS. TAKE A BUNCH OF TKEs AND THEN REALIZE HOW GAY YOUR CHAPTER IS…OH WAIT.

  • U Cant Frat says:

Ksig pillow fight = suspension…DTD drug trafficing = nothing….UCF gets it right again.

  • galdenrule says:

If I remember correctly according to the new golden rule one member represents the organization.
