Today was the one day a year that gives many people an excuse to add an O’ to their last name, drink heavily, and wear green (or they’re in for a pinch)… St. Patrick’s Day! Irish or not, UCF students came out in full force to Knight Library’s St. Patrick’s Day block party.

Partygoers enjoyed festive drink specials like green-colored beer and Irish car-bombs, while listening to live bands and eating food from local vendors. Everyone was in the holiday spirit, donning green EVERYTHING; shamrock head-boppers were a popular item. Also, Dropkick Murphy’s, “I’m Shipping Up to Boston” was played several times throughout the night to get people in the St. Patty’s Day mood. The ongoing holiday bash that began at 2pm, stretched all across the parking lot and ventured inside both Knight Library and Dungeon Lounge. Yet, it still seemed crowded! The block party was definitely a success. Knightnews was lucky enough to catch some interviews with students and enjoy the festivities.
