UPDATE: The Knights will face Ohio State in round 1 of the NCAA Tournament on March 19th at 1:30 p.m. in Columbus, Ohio.

The Knights defeated Tulane in the C-USA championship game 85-73. This is the second time in the last three years the ladies have come out on top in C-USA.

UCF won against UAB 51-47 in the quarterfinals, and and beat Memphis 81-63 in the semifinals advance to the finals against Tulane.

Jelisa Caldwell was named the Tournament MVP, with an impressive 27 points and 12 rebounds that led UCF to the win. Along with Caldwell’s first career double-double, Aisha Patrick had her fourth of the season, with 11 points and 12 rebounds.

The team effort really showed– six players scored points in the double digits, a first for The Knights, and out rebounded Tulane 20-8 offensively, and 45-32 overall.

Up next is the NCAA Tournament, and the first round games will be announced on tonight’s Selection Monday Special on ESPN at 7 p.m. The show will also be broadcasted on ESPN HD and ESPN3.com.

The team will be at associate coach Greg Brown’s house tonight for the announcement, with ESPN sending a video feed for the live reaction from the players and coaches regarding the announcement.
