Last night, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office responded to another armed robbery attempt in the UCF area. This one, however, was also a home invasion.
It unfolded on Alafaya Trail in the area of Pegasus Pointe and Campus Crossing.
Witnesses tipped off KnightNews.com around 12:30 a.m. last night to multiple squad cars around Alafaya and Science Drive. KnightNews.com was the first news organization in Central Florida to break the major police activity, and did so on our Facebook page.

According to witnesses, a man who is 6-feet-tall entered the residence brandishing a semi-automatic weapon, and told everyone to get down on the ground and to give him all their money and prescription medicine.
After threatening to kill one of the victims, another victim, who was located in the back of the home, came out wielding a machete, and scared off the robber.
Two of the victims chased down the suspect, who fired shots back, injuring one of the victims, before continuing to run off. Eventually he found a hiding spot in a dumpster, according to an anonymous caller to the Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies, who already set up a tight perimeter of the area and deployed K-9 units, quickly tracked down the suspect and arrested him.
