Firstly, let me congratulate everyone who obtained New York City internships this summer (or internships in general), it’s going to be a great time in the city that never sleeps. But now that you’ve received your acceptance letters, it’s time to start planning your summer celebrations in the big apple.

First stop: Governor’s Ball Music Festival

On Saturday, June 18, Governor’s Island will host The Governor’s Ball Music Festival, its first ever indie-rock, hip-hop, electronica festival. Currently boasting a prestigious line-up, Founders Entertainment has confirmed headliners Empire of the Sun, Pretty Lights, Big Boi (of Outkast) and Girl Talk, with supporting acts Neon Indian, People Under the Stairs, Mac Miller, Das Racist, Passion Pit (DJ set), Miami Horror, Outasight and Reptar.

As well as having music, the festival is scheduled to host a beer-pong tournament and several games of basketball and beach volleyball throughout the day.

As a music festival junkie, I suggest everyone who will be in NYC this summer to get your tickets to Governor’s Ball now, for this is a festival you won’t want to miss.
