Kevin Molino scored the only goal of the day in the 76th minute to bring home a win against the European Premiere League’s Newcastle United 1-2.
With a record breaking crowd of 10,889 fans, Orlando City came through with its biggest win in history.
Molino’s goal came from Dennis Chin that was substituted in at the 74th minute. Chin got past the Newcastle team and passed it to Molino then he launched it in to the net.
“Everything happens for a reason. I am just excited to be here,” said Molino at the post-game press conference. “It was an incredible feeling to score against Newcastle. I’m just happy that I am here.”
In the 34th minute City had a chance when Jamie Watson was able to get the ball to former Knight and now City forward Matt Luzunaris but Newcastle goalkeeper Forester made a save.
Orlando City will be back at the Citrus Bowl August 3rd to start a two game series against the Charleston Battery.
