UCF stands for many things. One of the most prominent definitions of the abbreviation however, seems to be Under Construction Forever. For those of you who believe this to be the true menaing of UCF, you’d be pretty close.
UCF has proposed over $300 million in work and renovations over the next three years for the university according to reports issued by the Orlando Business Journal.
The biggest project, at $85 million, calls for an Arts Complex Phase II. The smallest project, at 1.3 million, involves stocking Classroom II with equipment.
These projects however, are only in the “wish-list” state of production says UCF Associate Director of News & Information, Chad Binette. “The state fund that pays for the projects on this list (PECO — Public Education Capital Outlay) has had little money the past couple of years, so the state has not funded many university construction projects,” he said.
Here are a few of the current, major projects happening to UCF:
Academic Villages II – $37,492,800 (7/2013)
Classroom II – $23,475,601 (TBD)
Greek Housing Center – $5,600,000 (TBD)
We will continue to follow UCF’s planned expansion developments and report further as more information becomes available.
