It is the first weekend for thousands of students at the University of Central Florida and we’ve compiled a list of some things to do, some places to eat and ways to have fun.

If you don’t know by now, Orlando is packed with parks. Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Epcot, Seaworld, Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure…and the list continues.

Local/Downtown Bars

The UCF area has its fair share of bars. Local bars include: The Station, The Madhatter, Knight Library, On Tap and Knights Pub.

People willing to take a trip downtown will have the luxury of even more, upscale bars including Vain, Roxy, The Attic and more.

Wekiwa Springs

Looking for a little adventure?

Wekiwa Springs is a great outdoor adventure area which offers visitors the opportunity to relax in a natural setting, enjoy a picnic, or take a swim in the cool spring.

Amway Center/Venues

Last month, Paul McCartney performed TWO shows at this popular venue. Last year, the All-Star basketball game played at Amway.

The Amway Center has great concerts and shows all year round. Check out their site here to see who is coming!

Other popular Orlando venues include: The House of Blues, Hardrock Orlando, the UCF Arena and the Beacham.

Shopping

There are plenty of places to shop in Orlando, both near and far.

Near UCF, the Waterford outdoor shopping area has many of the stores usually seen in malls, plus Target, Best-Buy and more! See all the stores here.

Further from UCF, shopping includes the Mall of Millenia, and the outlet malls, located near Universal Orlando and the Walt Disney World Resort.
