Universal Studios has transformed horrifying movies and shows into real life for its one-of-a-kind event, Halloween Horror Nights 23.

KnightNews.com was able to get an inside look at the theme park’s annual scare fest which brought back the Walking Dead as part of the event and added seven other new houses — including Resident Evil, Evil Dead, An American Werewolf in London, The Cabin in the Woods, Havoc2: Derailed, Afterlife: Death’s Vengeance, and La Llorona.

The Walking Dead haunted house and scare areas brings visitors up close with the town of Woodbury and the prison where most of the show’s third season takes place. This year, “walkers” can be found all across the park, not just in scare zones.

Evil Dead 2 Fans of the show will surely enjoy the level of detail that encompasses the houses and scare areas making visitors feel as if they are actually part of the series. Super-fans with keen eyes will be able to spot many well placed, highly detailed elements from the show including props, walkers and scene decorations. (If a phone rings, pick it up!)

Other houses incorporate elements of their movie counterparts directly. In An American Werewolf in London, for example, 12 foot life-like animitronic werewolves envelop visitors into the horrifying scenes straight out of the film.

Universal Orlando Resort unleashes the horror of some of the most terrifying names in entertainment with Halloween Horror Nights 23. And of course, Universal brought back “Bill and Ted’s Excellent Halloween Adventure” — a spoof of pop culture and events within the last year. The event also has a special Rocky Horror Make Up Show which transports the audience into the classic cult film.

Halloween Horror Nights will continue on select nights through early November. Tickets for Florida residents start at just $42.99. Click the banner at the top of the page for ticket specials.
