In what proved to be a very disappointing week for all three Florida teams, the Jacksonville Jaguars, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Miami Dolphins all lost their respective games this past Sunday.

After a surprise victory their opening week against the Patriots, Miami was unable to stop the momentum of the Buffalo Bills who secured their victory 29-10.

The Bills win was aided by a 102-yard kickoff return for a touchdown along with the loss of Miami running back Knowshon Moreno 11 minutes into the game due to an elbow injury. This loss leaves the Miami Dolphins second in their division, with the Bills leading.

Turning the spotlight towards Jacksonville, the Jaguars were, once again, decimated by their opponent, in a loss against the Washington Redskins ending 41-10.

While some hope could be found when both Redskin’s quarterback and wide receiver had to be taken off the field, due to injury, in the first quarter, this was still unable to keep the Redskins from passing and running all over the Jaguars. This is now the second game where an opposing team has at least doubled what points the Jaguars were able to put up and leaves the team last in their division.

In the only game of the week that didn’t end in a complete blowout, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers lost their second home game, with the St. Louis Rams kicking a game winning field goal in the last minute. The loss, however, was truly solidified early on in the game when the Rams blocked a field goal that would have left the Buccaneers with more breathing room later on in the game.

With a final score of 19-17, leaving the Buccaneers last in their division, this loss marks the second season in row where the Buccaneers have lost their first two games. This, along with the fact that the loss was at home, is proving worrisome for fans who might be due for another disappointing season.

In week 3, the Buccaneers play their division rival, the Atlanta Falcons, this Thursday as 8:25 p.m. while the Jaguars face the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday at 1 p.m. and the Dolphins play the Kansas City Chiefs at 4 p.m. on Sunday as well.
