University of Central Florida football alumnus J.J. Worton has resigned with the Los Angeles Rams after a contract expiration that briefly ended Worton’s time in St. Louis.
The receiver took on a spot with the New England Patriots practice squad in January although would not see a contract renewal with New England after the playoffs.
The Rams locked in a move to Inglewood, California, near Los Angeles, against pleas from St. Louis city officials who drafted and presented stadium improvements and a plan-of-action to keep the NFL football team in town.
Thirty of thirty-two NFL owners approved Rams owner Stan Kroenke’s $1.8 billion plan to move. The possibility of the Rams sharing the second-largest media market with another NFL team – the San Diego Chargers or the Oakland Raiders, given at the time of St. Louis’ approved request – remains as another option. Rumors of the Oakland Raiders moving to Las Vegas have been circulating as a contender for the fifty-six-year-old team.
