A man from DeBary has died after being hit by a car near the University of Central Florida, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
FHP identified the man who died as 25-year-old Rian Whitmore.
The accident happened at 12:25 a.m. on University Boulevard and Lake Lynda Drive.
Witnesses say Whitmore ran across University Boulevard, entering the “direct path” of a 2015 Honda Civic that was heading eastbound.
The woman driving that vehicle was identified as 22-year-old Finnessa Randall from Virginia, according to FHP. She was not injured.
It is not clear if anyone involved was a UCF student.
