Donald J. Trump appeared before a crowd of more than 11,000 on Friday night as part of his “U.S.A. Thank You Tour” after winning the presidential election in November.
Various speakers took to the stage before Trump, including Governor Rick Scott and vice-president elect Mike Pence.
Trump spoke to the large crowd in front of a Christmas tree background at the Central Florida Fairgrounds.
“I’m here today for one main reason, to say ‘thank you’ to the incredible people of Florida,” said the president-elect.
The supporter’ chants varied throughout the night, echoing “Thank you Trump” along with some of the more familiar chants of “Lock her up” and “Drain the swamp.”
Trump spoke on various issues including the Pulse nightclub shooting, saying, “Let me keep this as clearly as I can: I am going to keep radical Islamic terrorists the hell out of our country.”
The pulse shooter, Omar Mateen, was born in Long Island, New York.
Trump concluded the night by asking the crowd to believe in themselves and America.
“And if we do that, then all together we will make America strong again, we will make America wealthy again, we will make America safe again,” said Trump to the crowd as they joined in to conclude with “we will make America great again.”
