The Division 1 NCAA Men’s Basketball RPI Rankings have the University of Central Florida as number 10 in the nation on the Ratings Percentage Index – a ranking well-deserved.

The Knights have gone 7-1 after Saturday night’s victory over Maryland Eastern Shore 76-58.

Men’s basketball head coach Johnny Dawkins’ first season with UCF has turned a previously 12-18 team into a powerful starting 7-1 team, only losing to Villanova in the Gildan Charleston Classic.

Who is Villanova, you say? The 2016 NCAA Men’s Basketball National Champions and the currently 9-0, No. 2 team in the nation in the same ranking system.

Your Knights lost to the champions by a mere ten points, where UCF has won their first five games by twenty points or more and Stetson by twenty-five points.

UCF (7-1) currently holds the No. 1 spot in the American Athletic Conference for men’s basketball after AP No. 22 Cincinnati (7-2) lost to Butler 65-75 Saturday.

See the Knights continue with a home game against Penn on Monday at 7 p.m. at CFE Arena.
