“UCF will not be renewing his contract.”
That was included in a statement from UCF about Andrew Holloway, the Director of Health Information Technology Operations at UCF’s College of Medicine.
Holloway was found in violation of university regulation, as well as state statutes when it was discovered that Holloway had diverted a large sum of university funds to his own private company.
From 2012-2016 UCF paid Mr. Holloway’s company, ITProtechs, a total of $346,800 for services rendered by his company that he diverted from the UCF dual compensation process.
An investigation was launched in May of 2016 by University Compliance, Ethics, and Risk, or UCER after a complaint was received by the UCF Integrity Line. The complaint claimed that Holloway was being paid by the university as a vendor and that UCF leadership condoned the activity.
However, upon investigation, UCER stated in a memo following the investigation that it “did not substantiate the allegation that UCF Computer Services and Telecommunications leadership was aware of and condoned the outside activity.”
