The University of Central Florida confirmed that an Amazon Pickup Point, commonly known as Amazon Lockers, will be constructed across from CFE Arena on East Plaza Drive.

To be built between Burger U, Towers Residential Living, and the UCF Barnes & Noble, students will be able to pick up packages in a secure locker or from a worker at the counter.

The program premiered in February as a convenience for students who live in dorms or apartments that may have a difficult time receiving a package. Students at UCF can choose to have orders delivered to the pickup point and either pick up the package at the counter or retrieve it from a secure self-service locker that can be opened using a security code.

Those students who have Amazon Prime Student will receive the benefit of faster delivery of certain items through Amazon – this includes same-day delivery, which has now been introduced to Orlando and Central Florida. Amazon Prime Student is offered at $50, half the price of a regular Amazon Prime membership.

The central location of UCF’s campus will allow for easier and more efficient delivery of packages, translating to faster deliveries and returns.

The building won’t be operated by the university although will be available to UCF students, where service behind the counters will come from UCF students.

Amazon is currently looking for Knights to hire as campus associates at the pickup point to assist students with packages and pickups. Interested students may apply at amazon.com/campusjobs.

“As an Amazon part-time campus associate at a campus pickup location, you’re the one behind the smile on the box when customers pick up their packages,” a hiring flyer provided by UCF said.

Amazon pickup locations are generally open from 9 a.m. through 9 p.m. on weekdays and 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. on weekends.
