The University of Central Florida Student Union will see the closing of Subway and Qdoba as the Union’s expansion project takes shape.

Knight News spoke with UCF Communications Coordinator Rachel Williams on Friday, who stated both Subway and Qdoba have reached their last day on Friday, June 30 in the Student Union.

Subway’s lease has not been renewed, Williams said; “Boar’s Head has proven to be very popular with students, so before the start of the Fall semester it will move into the space Subway has occupied.”

“There will be more room for Boar’s Head customers in the larger Subway space,” said Williams.

Friday saw the last day of operation take place for the franchisee that runs Qdoba in the Student Union.

Due to the restaurant’s popularity, Aramark has entered into a franchise agreement and will operate Qdoba.

“There may be a short delay before it opens under Aramark management, and it hasn’t been decided whether it will be located in the same location or will take over the spot where Boar’s Head is currently,” Williams said.
