In a double-overtime scenario, the Kayla Adamek and Christine Creighton of the University of Central Florida women’s soccer team connected to give the team their first win over North Carolina in program history.
“I love my team,” head coach Tiffany Roberts Sahaydak said at the UCF Soccer Complex.
“They have amazing senior leadership right now. There is no ego on this team. They all understand their roles and they’re all in it for each other.”

UCF trailed in only the 3rd minute after a Tar Heel goal. The Black and Gold equalized the game in the 10th minute with an unassisted goal by Dina Orschmann on her first start for the Knights.
The remaining 92 minutes of regular time went without a goal from either team. UNC came close to pulling in a win at minute 82 although a referee would waive the goal after an offsides call on the Tar Heels.
Overtime one went the route of regular time with no goals but, with minutes remaining in the second overtime, Adamek of UCF made contact with a sailing ball, deflecting it to Crieghton who cleared the goalie with the shot and scored, giving the Knights the historic win.
“This is the best win I’ve ever been a part of,” Sahaydak said.
UCF women’s soccer head coach earned a victory over her former head coach Anson Dorrance Friday night.
