During a recent episode of O’Neal’s own podcast, “The Big Podcast with Shaq” the former Magic star expressed interest in buying the team that drafted him in 1992.

“Listen, we still run that franchise,” O’Neal said. “And if they want to sell it to us — DeVos family — we’re ready to go right now.”

O’neal was referring to his featured guest on the podcast, Dennis Scott who was a teammate of the 7’1 center during his tenure in Orlando from 1992-1996.

O’Neal said he believed if sold to him, he would be able to bring the franchise to another level

“This message goes out to the DeVos family: If you’re ready to sell Orlando Magic, sell it to somebody who’s gonna take it to the next level, that’s us,” O’Neal said. “We got the money, you ain’t got to worry about that.”

According to Celebrity Net Worth, O’Neal’s net worth is estimated to be around $400 million which is far below the worth of the Magic’s Franchise estimated by Forbes to be $1.64 Billion.

Rich DeVos and the DeVos family’s net worth is over $5 Billion currently and haven’t said they are interested in selling the Orlando franchise anytime soon.
