Quarterback John Rhys Plumlee is already having an impressive start to his UCF career, earning AAC Offensive Player of the Week after his impressive performance in the Knights’ win over FAU Saturday.

A week after suffering a tough loss against the Louisville Cardinals, where the Knights did not score any points in the second half of the game, Plumlee led the UCF football team to a big rebound win over the FAU owls that saw UCF go on a 33-0 unanswered run.

Plumlee led the Knights to a much-needed victory, with a career-high 339 yards completing nearly 70% of his passes thrown. Plumlee led the team yet again in rushing for the game, picking up 121 yards on the ground, adding two touchdown runs.

With the honor Plumlee has become the first Knight since QB Dillon Gabriel on Oct 19, 2020, to earn AAC Offensive Player of the Week.

You can catch Plumlee and the rest of the UCF football team this Saturday as they head back home to challenge the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets at 4 p.m. inside FBC Mortgage Stadium. The game will be broadcast on ESPNU.
