After defeating the No. 20 Cincinnati Bearcats on Saturday, the UCF football clocked in at No. 25 in the first College Football Playoff rankings of the 2022 season, making them the only team in the state of Florida to be ranked.
The College Football Playoff committee announced the first top 25 rankings of the year on ESPN where the Knights were ranked for the first time since the last rankings of the 2018 season where UCF was ranked No. 8 before facing the LSU Tigers in the Fiesta Bowl.
Currently the Knights have a 6-2 overall record for the season with another top 25 matchup next Saturday on the road against AAC opponent, Tulane which currently ranks No. 19 in the country.
The Knights will head to Tennessee this weekend to take on the Memphis Tigers inside Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium at 3:30 p.m.
The game will be broadcast on ESPN2.
