Yesterday, October 29th, The Lingerie Football League (LFL) returned to the UCF arena to host another battle of gridiron goddesses, as the Orlando Fantasy faced off against the Miami Caliente for their second game of the season. The Fantasy sought to earn their first victory since their inception, as they suffered a royal beat-down during their debut against the Tampa Breeze on September 24, losing 47-6.
Last night’s game proved to accomplish exactly what the LFL set out to do: put together a sandwich of sports and sexiness. The game proved to be more than just eye candy, as the fans really got into the action, erupting with every pass, pick, and tackle—and make no mistake, these girls could hit.
The Fantasy started the game strong, as they darted into the end zone on the third play of the game for a quick 6-0 lead. The Fantasy quickly followed with another score with 8:40 left in the first half, and converted the extra point to make a 13-0 advantage over the Caliente.
But the Caliente would not go out quietly, as they scored with 2:21 left in the first half. They didn’t convert the extra point, but the Fantasy’s lead was cut to 13-6.
The Fantasy came through in the clutch before the half was over, as they managed to get a touchdown with 3 seconds left in the first half. Unable get the extra point, the Fantasy nonetheless increased their lead to 19-6 midway through the match.
Things quickly heated up for the Caliente, however, as they scored twice within the first five minutes of the second half and made the two-point conversion on their initial TD to gain a lead over the Fantasy, 20-19. The Caliente scored again with 2:13 left in the game and made the one-point conversion to increase their lead 27-19.
The Fantasy, hoping to salvage a tie, nearly made it to the end zone with a minute left in the game, only to fumble the ball. The Miami Caliente recovered it, took a knee, and that was all she wrote for the Fantasy.
The final Score was 27-19 in favor of the Caliente, and the Fantasy continued their winless season.
