This Wednesday, December 1, the undefeated UCF Knights (5-0) will face off with the University of Florida Gators (5-1).

Tip off will be at 7:00 p.m. in the Amway Center in downtown Orlando.

A pre-game party with ½ off gator appetizers will be hosted by the Alumni Association, the Inter Fraternity Council and SGA, according to a facebook event.

The party will be located at Wall Street from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. and buses will bring UCF students to the event from UCF.

Knightnews.com interviewed Kyle Schumacher, the man who came up with the whole idea to bring students together — and remained humble about doing so.

“I was just happy to bring everyone to the table with the idea,” Schumacher said.

“I’d rather you focus on the event, as I think it’s a unique way to connect students and alumni. These are the type of events that begin traditions, instill spirit and solidify UCF as a national powerhouse,” Schumacher said, when asked about his role in creating the vision for the event.

Schumacher is no stanger to leasership. He is the former Homecoming King and former IFC President.

Now, Schumacher seems to be leading the way with promoting UCF spirit at the game. “I just want to get students to fill the Amway center and eat some gator!” he said.

The buses will run from 3-11 p.m. for all UCF students with UCF ID’s, and take students from the LYNX stop on campus to the LYNX Transit Center downtown, according to the facebook event.

KnightNews.com asked SGA about its involvement with the event early Monday afternoon, including how many buses they’d be providing, but a spokesperson for SGA President Michael Kilbride responded by saying she’d work to get us information as soon as she could.

After publishing the story earlier Tuesday night, KnightNews.com got a response from SGA after 11 p.m. stating six buses will be transporting students to and from downtown, and transportation will be on a first come, first serve basis.
