It looks like St. Patrick’s Day can get the best of all of us.
According to a report from the Orlando Sentinel, UCF football wide receiver J.J. Worton was arrested on St. Patty’s Day outside of Knight Library’s block party for an altercation with a police officer.

The sophomore was arrested and charged with felony resisting arrest with violence and felony battery on an officer.
According to the report, Worton resisted arrest when a sheriff’s deputy put his arm on him, and then swung at the officer in an attempt to punch him.
Worton, who led the team in receiving with 531 yards and four touchdown catches, ran through the Library parking lot and hid under a parked vehicle. Cops put him in handcuffs, before Worton further resisted arrest, and one of the cops reported “punched me in the face with a closed fist.”
Deputies eventually were forced to subdue the 20-year-old with pepper spray before booking him at Orange County Jail early Sunday morning.
This would be a big loss for the UCF football team as Worton is a rising star for the Knights, who is expected to have a lot of production this season after an excellent freshman campaign.
UCF head coach George O’Leary is still waiting to recieving all the facts.
“When I collect all of the facts and know exactly what took place, we will deal with this situation in an appropriate manner,” O’Leary said in a statement released by the school’s athletic association to the Sentinel.
