According to our sources at UCF, it can be confirmed that the NCAA won’t rule on the UCF infractions appeal until January, making UCF eligible for this year’s postseason.
UCF was informed last week that the the hearing will be Jan. 24.
This makes UCF eligible to play in a bowl game for this year in Conference USA.
UCF initially hoped for an expedited appeals process, trying to have an answer before the 2012 postseason.
UCF president John Hitt gave this statement to the Orlando Sentinel: “We think it’s the right thing to do to stand up for the program,” Hitt said of the appeal. “We’ll take what comes on that.”
