KnightNews.com has learned the negotiations for a 4Rivers Smokehouse in Waterford Lakes location didn’t work out, however, UCF students will soon be able to enjoy the barbecue even closer.
4Rivers restaurant signed a new lease on Feb. 26 at a vacant site located at 11850 University Blvd, the Orlando Business Journal reports. This will be the chain’s first ground-up build and is slated to open sometime in October, owner John Rivers told OBJ.
“It takes longer to do and it costs more , but we can design it the way we want,” River told OBJ. “We never want to look corporate, so each of our restaurants has a different looks and feel. This one will be most similar to Winter Park II, which opened last summer, but we’re doing something very unique inside.
Rivers tells OBJ that patrons will be closer to the actual smoking and meats and it will also have a bigger in-house bakery, known as the Sweet Shop.
New restaurants are also expected to spring up in Gainesville, which will open sometime in August as well as a location in Jacksonville, expected to open in May.
