As The Knight’s Pub staff prepares for their first soft opening Friday, the owners hope to add onto the history of the previous bar, The Pub that stood at the very same location. The Pub opened in the 1970’s and unfortunately closed in 2006 due to a fire. Seven years later the bar is back with a new look, and according to owner Pete Zachman, ready to takeover the UCF nightlife scene.

According to owner Pete Zachman, alumni and other interested people have been knocking on “The Pub’s” door, reminiscing about nickel-beer Thursdays and other memories from the old bar that was here for so long as they were setting up the new bar. Many of these people even attended UCF back when it was called Florida Technological University.

“I’m really excited to reopen The Pub and bring back something to UCF that I think has been lost for a while now,” Zachman said.

Although the first soft opening is Friday, The Pub is scheduled to have its grand opening at the beginning of the Summer B semester. Until then, they plan to make a couple changes to the bar and over the next few weeks will continue to have soft openings.

As for parking, other than the parking directly in front of the bar you are also permitted to park along the side of the street in front of the bar, Pasteur Dr. Overflow parking in the lot behind the bar is also available if necessary.

The Pub is located 3910 N. Alafaya Trail, directly across from the main campus entrance and at the corner of University and Alafaya. Doors open Friday night at 9:00 PM for the soft opening. Check back to KnightNews.com for more information on the next soft openings and grand opening.
