KnightNews.com has learned the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, along with UCF police and the Florida Highway Patrol, will be searching for drunk drivers in the UCF area tonight.
The operation is done through a “Community Traffic Safety Task Force” and will involve roving patrols from 9 p.m. Saturday, December 5 to 4 a.m. Sunday, December 6.
“High profile DUI Saturation Patrol operations have been a valuable tool to law enforcement,” sheriff’s spokesman Jim Solomons told KnightNews.com. “The objective of this operation is to safely remove suspected DUI offenders and criminal traffic violators from the highways by mobile high visibility traffic enforcement tactics.”
Agencies will have a mobile blood alcohol testing unit at their disposal during the operation.
