Students at the University of Central Florida were mainly disappointed with last night’s medical marijuana election results and a powerful Orlando attorney says the fight is far from over.

Florida voters gave a thumbs down to medical marijuana for the state, failing to gather the 60 percent of votes necessary for the amendment to pass.

“It’s a little disappointing because I know a few people that use medical marijuana to help with their pain. So it’s just sad to see that they won’t be able to legally be using the substance to help their pain,” a UCF student named Manny told KnightNews.com.

Orlando attorney John Morgan, one of the top proponents for medical marijuana, expressed his disappointment at a news conference Wednesday afternoon.

“I am obviously disappointed. In my business I’m used to winning more than I lose,” Morgan said.

Morgan went on to tell reporters that the fight wasn’t over and that Floridians were clearly interested in medical marijuana being legalized, saying voters cast “500,000 more votes than Rick Scott and 600,000 more votes than Charlie Crist,” for amendment two.

“This is just the first battle and I plan to win the war,” Morgan said.
