The Orlando Eye is set to open on May 4, but its inspiration comes from the London Eye across the pond in England.
When KnightNews.com was in Europe for the UCF vs. Penn State game in Ireland, we made a stop in London to get a look inside of the London Eye to get an idea of the views people can expect of the eye being built on I-Drive in Orlando.
Just over 40 feet shorter than the London Eye, the Orlando Eye will still expect to give riders views all across the city of Orlando and become the fifth tallest eye in the world.
The wheel will consist of 30 glass capsules, attached to the wheel by a shaft and hangar attached to the top of the capsule. The capsules will remain at ground level the entire ride, allowing riders to freely walk around the capsule.
For those interested in premium packages, the Orlando Eye is offering specials such as being able to enjoy a glass of champagne on the ride.
Pre-sale tickets for the Orlando Eye can be bought here as low as $18.
