During the current economic hardships, it’s becoming harder and harder for college students to find quality entertainment for a quality price.

This is especially true for those students who may be underage and can’t go out partying. However, there is another way to have fun and meet new people — all on a budget.

Local venues, such as The Social, The Bacbooth, and Club Firestone, all have a very diverse calendar of events as far as upcoming concerts are concerned. They are all located roughly 15 to 20 minutes away from UCF, and aren’t very hard to find.

Ranging anywhere from indie to electronica, hip-hop to metal, and punk to folk, there is a show for almost anyone.

Here’s a list of upcoming events:

All the shows listed are no more than $20 for admission and, with the exception of a few “18-and-up” shows, are for all ages. All of these are excellent opportunities to make new friends and enjoy really great music.

As a sidenote, The Backbooth is transformed at 10 p.m. on Monday nights into Club Crush. Crush is an indie/electronica dance club open to ages 18-and-up. The cover charge is $3, but if you sign up on the guest list, it’s free!

So, if you’re looking for some quality nighttime entertainment for a small amount of cash, look no farther than your own backyard, downtown Orlando!
