Students know that people seeking abortions deserve accurate information and compassionate care, not shame, stigma, and lies. That’s why UCF students, in partnership with Organize Florida, say they are taking on ThriVe Orlando, an anti-abortion fake clinic operating right in their university’s backyard.

As young people across the country are organizing to reject groups that put ideology above their futures, students at UCF are working to expose these fake clinics that disguise themselves as legitimate health centers that are unbiased — but are in fact religious anti-choice organizations working to obstruct people seeking abortions.

ThriVe Orlando is known to target college and high school students seeking reproductive care with deceptive advertising – concealing its anti-abortion agenda – and misinformation. ThriVe has medically inaccurate information on its website and preys on low-income women, women of color, and women on college campuses by luring them in with free ultrasounds, only to try and prevent them from accessing abortion care. ThriVe is just one of 120 fake clinics operating in Florida, with many similar clinics across the country.

On Tuesday, April 17 at 3 p.m., UCF students and others from the community are gathering at ThriVe Orlando to protest the center’s efforts to deceive and shame UCF students and people in the local community seeking reproductive health care. Join the protest and help us send the message that ThriVe’s deception has no place in our community! Information on the event can be found here.
