A chilly Saturday morning couldn’t stop the University of Central Florida Knights from a victory over the The University of Miami’s Mens Club soccer team.

Early in the first half, UM put pressure on the Knights defense but the team stayed strong sharing equal possession with the Canes.

With neither team scoring in the first half, Knights Coach Fazal Rehmani adjusted the lineup putting some fresh legs on the field. Within the first five minutes of the 2nd half, Knights offense controlled the ball pushing through UM’s defense. After two shot attempts left mid-fielder Andrew Williams scored the opening goal.

Fifteen minutes into the second half forward Taylor Moore scored the 2nd goal with an assist by mid-fielder Kamal Cudjoe. With a goal from UM with 7 minutes left in the game, goal keeper Andrew Kimpland made big saves keeping UM at bay.

With three minutes left, a surprise goal from center mid-fielder Brian Phillips sealed the Knights win. The Knight 3-1 win over UM puts the team in first place in their league. With an undefeated record the Knights face FSU in Tallahassee next Saturday. Go Knights!
