At the event, family and friends of the contestants gathered anxiously to watch the girls compete. They started out with the opening group number. The girls were introduced one by one while they dazzled the crowd with their choreographed dance. Mr. UCF and Miss UCF 2009 were the hosts for the night. Afterwards, it was the “Lifestyle and Fitness” segment.
The contestants got to model a bathing suit while the hosts told us a little about their involvement. Everyone’s favorite, the talent portion, was after that. Eight girls showcased their best talent and after a brief intermission the remaining eight took the stage for their performances. Finally, possibly the most important event of the night was here: “Eveningwear” coupled with the interview question. After that, it was all up to the judges to decide which miss was going on to the Miss Florida pageant, and who would represent UCF in the community for the next year.
After we said goodbye to reigning Miss UCF 2009, Dasha, it was time to hear the verdict. Announced first were awards such as: Miss Congeniality, Fan Favorite, 3rd runner up, 2nd runner up, etc.
Finally, the winner of the title, Sara York was crowned Miss University of Central Florida 2010. Sara York is a sophomore here at UCF majoring in Event Management. She is a LEAD Scholar, a member of the Alpha Delta Pi sorority, an incredible pianist — and so much more. Wanna get to know her better? Just ask her! She’s your new Miss UCF 2010!
