Orlando’s Roxy nightclub launched a special college night targeting UCF students this summer, and it’s quickly becoming a popular way for Knights to spend Thursday nights.

Roxy’s operating partner, Ted Pizio, has arranged for a bus to pick students up from UCF and drive them to his club on Bennet Blvd. near downtown Orlando.

The bus is popular because students can save money on gas, avoid the hassel of parking and don’t have to worry about drinking and driving or finding a DD, Pizio said.

A $10 ticket buys a spot on the bus, free cover at Roxy, and VIP entrance, which is a fast-track to skip the line. Once inside, ladies drink free and guys pay only $1 for drinks until midnight.

On the first Thursday of Summer B, Pizio said Roxy sold 1,141 tickets to the club that gives UCF students a chance to dress up, look good and with other Knights looking for a stylish, classy atmosphere. It was filled to capacity.

With a two level nightclub complete with a state of the art sound system and DJ 1960 playing the latest in hip hop and top 40, Pizio says Roxy is attracting a crowd looking for something “a little better than local.”

Roxy college nights on Thursdays usually have special themes. “Models and Bottles” is the theme set for this Thursday.

On July 29 Roxy will host a “SEX party,” where free condoms and paddles for spanking will be handed out. Pizio also pointed out how the air conditioning system works really well and newly renovated restrooms for the ladies help make Roxy a place to go for a nice night on the town.

Students wanting full VIP treatment inside the club, who are at least 21, can buy $100 bottles.

To buy tickets, students can check out EDU After Dark on Facebook, e-mail partybus@eduafterdark.com or contact Mike Grinberg directly at 754-581-4497.

Valet parking is also available.
