Two University of Florida students died this past weekend during a trip to North Georgia to explore a cave, reports show.

The victims are reportedly Grant Lockenbach, 20, and Michael Wayne Pirie, 18 and both are from Central Florida.

The victims were with a total of 10 people exploring Ellison’s Cave Saturday afternoon when a backpack fell and Lockenbach went down 150 feet after it and became in distress. Pirie went down to help and also got stranded, according to reports.

A waterfall comes out of the cave and the two were impacted by that, the local sheriff told media. He suspected hypothermia was the likely cause of death.
