Who has the best burger in Orlando? As a burger fiend I have been asking this question since I began attending UCF. After a long and arduous search, I believe that I have found the answer to this question.

The restaurant that embodies what the burger is all about would have to be Graffiti Junktion. With an urban, artsy vibe and décor along with a mouth-watering menu, these guys are doing it right and keeping it simple.

Upon your arrival you can choose indoor or outdoor seating – I suggest indoors. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the staff is quirky and entertaining, and the art-splattered walls definitely capture your eye. These elements by themselves make it a unique dining experience; however, we cannot forget about the delicious food!

As you open your menu you really need to contain yourself so you do not order it in its entirety. Starters include zucchini fries with a delectable horseradish sauce, chicken wings, and even a seasonal fruit platter with a variety of cheeses. Then we have our soups, salads, and sandwiches but at the heart of the menu is what I have searched for like the most valuable of treasures, the burgers.

The menu contains eight specialty burgers along with an option to create your own burger which is always nice. All of the specialty burgers are inexplicably delicious, but the one that sticks out in the forefront of my mind is the Green Mountain. It is loaded up with Canadian bacon, cheddar, a fried egg and a pile of fries to sop up the flavor packed egg yolk goodness oozing all over. If this is not up your ally though they have other specialty burgers that range from having four slices of cheese stuffed inside of them to a turkey burger covered in fresh sprouts and avocado slices.

My personal suggestion though is to build your own because it allows you to combine elements from different burgers into your own specialty burger. You choose your meat (beef, turkey, chicken, or veggie) and toppings (cheeses, veggies, sour cream, salsa, bacon, fried egg, etc.). The specialty burgers range from $9.00 to $12.00 and when you build your own burger the price varies depending on your meat and toppings but hovers around the same amount. This may seem a little pricy but when you see the sheer size of the burgers and amount of fries you get per order you will be beyond thoroughly satisfied.

On top of the exceptional food and ideal dining environment, they have weekly events and specials! Stop by Tuesdays to witness the fiery battle of the bartenders, Wednesdays for $10.00 unlimited wine, Friday for happy hour, or on a Saturday night to fill your belly with some food and laughs watching Saturday Night Live just to name a few.

Graffiti Junktion is not only the best burger I have had in Orlando, but one of the best restaurants in Orlando. By combining a great staff and environment with fresh, simple food and ingredients they are able to a hit a note inside of anyone who truly appreciates the timeless American classic. They have locations in downtown Orlando as well as the College Park area and although they are not as close as other places they are totally worth the twenty five minute “food-venture” you will have on the way!
