In one of the most controversial decisions in boxing history, Timothy Bradley defeated Manny Pacquiao by split decision last Saturday at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, taking Pacquiao’s WBO Welterweight belt in front of a stunned crowd.

Bradley (29-0) remained undefeated, while ending Pacquiao’s (54-4-2) seven-year unblemished streak. It was a hard fought fight, as Pacquiao and Bradley went punch for punch, delivering the sold-out crowd exactly what they wanted.

Although it looked like Pacquiao had the edge, two judges scored it 115-113 for Bradley, while the other judge recorded it 115-113 for the Pacman, making Bradley the new champion.

However, the numbers calculated by the CompuBox said otherwise. Pacquiao connected on 253 of 751 punches thrown (34% accuracy) while Bradley landed just 115 of 839 (19 percent). It had Pacquiao winning at least 10 rounds of the 12-round bout.

Whatever the reason for the judge’s controversial decision, Pacquiao’s reign at the top ended in Vegas. There will most likely be a rematch in the near future as many people in Pacquiao’s camp felt he got robbed by the judges.
