The UCF football team added its 11th and 12th verbal commits of the 2013 recruiting class when St. Petersburg Lakewood defensive backs Shaquill and Shaquem Griffin officially committed Friday, according to the Orlando Sentinel.

The Knights recent surge of Tampa-area recruits continued with the addition of the Griffin twins.

Shaquill is a 6-foot, 185-poundthree-star prospect (Rivals.com) who holds scholarship offers from USF, Vanderbilt, Illinois and others. He is ranked as the No. 47 cornerback in the nation.

Shaquem is a 6-1″, 185 pound safety who is a two-star prospect (Rivals.com) and received an offer from USF too, as well as Cincinnati, Minnesota, FIU and others.

The brothers wanted to make programs now that they came as a package deal, which UCF coach George O’Leary had no problem obliging.

“The campus is amazing and we really like what we see,” Shaquem said in an interview with the Orlando Sentinel on Tuesday. “We’ve talked to a lot of their coaches, the trainers. We looked around the school, weight room and it’s amazing being in that environment.”

With the Griffin brothers in place, the Knights will now have two sets of twins on the team, as offensive linemen Jordan and Justin McCray are also twins.
