Many people consider Ultra Music Festival, which takes place in Miami, one of the world’s most well-known music festivals created for electronic dance music (EDM) fans. This may be true, but is anything really comparable to the epic Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC)?

EDC is the largest EDM festival held in America and arrived in Florida for the first time in 2011. Last year it was held in Orlando at Tinker Field and fortunately for all the EDM fans who attend the University of Central Florida, it’s coming back this year on November 9th and 10th.

Some of the biggest artists, such as Benny Benassi and Calvin Harris, were featured in last year’s festival so students should expect the performance of a lifetime for EDC 2012. Aside from the fact that students will be able to see some of the biggest names in EDM perform live, there will also be a variety of different carnival rides available at all times during the festival. EDC is also known for various performers walking around among the crowd, such as stilt-walkers and acrobats.

Mikey Rubino, CEO of the company Evolve Group, explained what students have to look forward to. “There will be world renowned DJ’s spinning your favorite electronic music on one of their stages. There will be daisy-like imagery and production throughout the festival. Even some of the dancers and performers somehow have daisies incorporated in their wardrobe. It also happens to be a carnival with various carnival rides. All of the rides are generic hometown carnival rides. It’s all about the atmosphere the rides actually create. It takes you for a stroll down memory lane as you indulge into the memories of your childhood,” Rubino said.

With the lineup scheduled to come out in approximately three weeks, tickets are already on sale. There are two different options available for purchasing tickets, both which should be done sooner rather than later due to the fact the prices are expected to rise as the Festival gets nearer.

The first option, and the more common, for purchasing a ticket is to get the weekend pass. The weekend pass allows you to attend both days of EDC, Friday the 9th and Saturday the 10th. Students also have the option of purchasing a single day ticket for their day of choice. You can purchase your tickets from the official EDC website: http://electricdaisycarnival.com/Orlando/ which is done through Ticketmaster.
